Green bean and bacon bake

    onion, chopped
  • 200
    bacon, chopped
  • 2
    garlic cloves, crushed
  • 250
    brown mushrooms, sliced
  • 410
    can French-cut green beans, drained
  • 30
    packet cheese and chive potato crisps, crushed (optional)
  • 250
    grated Cheddar cheese
  • 250
    sour cream
  • 1
    egg, whisked


Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter a 22 cm ovenproof dish.
Fry the onion and bacon until done.
Add the garlic and mushrooms and fry until the mushrooms are done.
Remove from the heat and add the remaining ingredients, mixing lightly.
Turn into the prepared dish and bake for 30 minutes or until firm and golden brown.
Serve as a main dish (it will serve 4) with fresh bread and a salad or as a side dish.
