Ingredients (8)

2.00 kg green apples — cored, peeled
2.00 onion — finely chopped
500.00 g sultanas
600.00 g sugar
10.00 ml salt
10.00 ml mustard — seeds
1.00 Litres vinegar — white garpe
2.00 ml cayenne pepper

Method:

Dice the apples. Place the diced apples in a large saucepan along with the remaining ingredients. Heat slowly, stirring continuously until all the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for about one and a half hours or until the mixture is no longer watery. Stir every now and then. Bottle the chutney while still hot.
Makes 1 litre of chutney.
