Garlic mushrooms

  • 500
    fresh mushrooms
  • 25
  • 1
    red pepper, chopped
  • 3
    cloves garlic, finely chopped (use more if desired)
  • salt and pepper
  • chopped parsley
  • 125
    smooth cottage cheese
  • 2
    slices day-old white bread


Preheat the oven to 220 ºC (440 ºF). Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Heat the butter and sauté the red pepper until soft. Add the mushrooms and garlic and fry until the mushrooms are nicely browned. Season to taste with salt, pepper and freshly chopped parsley. Place in an ovenproof dish and dot with cottage cheese. Crumble the bread and sprinkle over the cottage cheese. Bake for about 10 minutes until the breadcrumbs are nicely browned. Serve immediately.
