Funny-face cakes

    castor sugar
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 100
    self-raising flour
  • Icing
  • 150
    icing sugar
  • assorted sweets, to decorate


15 minutes
Beat together butter and castor sugar until light. Add eggs and beat well. Fold in the flour.
Place cupcake cases into muffin tins. Spoon mixture into cases. Bake in a preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until risen and golden.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool on wire racks.

Sift the icing sugar and stir in 10ml boiling water. Spread icing on each cupcake and make faces using assorted sweets as decorations.
