Fruit kebabs with chocolate and orange sauce

Ingredients (11)

2 kiwi fruit — skinned and sliced
melon — small, cubed
melon — small green, cubed
1 pineapple — small, cubed
6 strawberries
6 wooden skewers — soaked in water
CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE SAUCE
15 ml cocoa powder — sifted
150 ml orange juice — fresh
15 ml golden syrup
90 ml cream
icing sugar

Method:

Thread the pieces of fruit onto the kebab skewers and chill until just before braaiing.
Meanwhile, make the sauce by heating the cocoa, orange juice and golden syrup in a small saucepan for about five to six minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat and stir in the cream.
Dust the fruit kebabs with icing sugar and grill for two minutes on each side until lightly browned.
Serve immediately with the chocolate and orange sauce.
