Ingredients (11)

125.00 ml honey
60.00 ml apricots — dried, chopped
60.00 ml raisins
60.00 ml cherries
30.00 ml pecan nuts — chopped
12.00 bread — French loaf, sliced
120.00 g cheese — grated
500.00 ml milk
4.00 eggs — large
salt and freshly ground black pepper
30.00 ml butter

Method:

Mix the honey, apricots, raisins, cherries and nuts. Set aside. Cut into the side of the crust of the slice of bread (2,5 cm thick, diagonally cut slices) to form a pocket. Fill each pocket with cheese. Beat the milk and eggs together and season with salt an pepper. Soak the filled slices, one at a time in the egg mixture. The bread must be well saturated. Heat butter in a pan and fry the bread for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Add more butter if necessary. Place the toast on a baking sheet in the oven to keep warm. Serve with dried fruit mixture.
