Flat bread with sardines, garlic and olives

    quantity Basic flat loaf dough


Prepare the basic dough as described in the Basic flat loaf recipe. Break a can of sardines into pieces, removing the bones if preferred. Reserve the oil. Halve 12 black olives and add half the olives, sardines, 1 crushed garlic clove and 5 ml (1 t) chopped fresh parsley to the dough. Brush the proven dough with the sardine oil and press the remaining sardines, olives, 1 crushed clove garlic and 5 ml (1 t) chopped fresh parsley into the dough. Continue preparation as described for the basic bread. (The olive oil may be omitted from this recipe.) Serve as a light meal on its own.
