Figs with orange honey pecan sauce

    orange, rind

    icing sugar
  • 2
    sprigs lavender
  • 8
    figs, halved
  • 60
    pecans, roughly chopped
  • whipped cream or ice cream to serve

Blanch the orange rind in boiling water for 1 minute. Drain, rinse and dry. Heat the orange juice, honey, butter and icing sugar together with the lavender over a low heat until combined. Brush the cut side of the figs with a little sauce and grill under a preheated grill until sizzling and lightly brown. Remove the lavender from the sauce, reheat and add the pecans. Arrange the figs on individual plates, drizzle over and around with the sauce and garnish with the orange rind. Serve immediately with whipped cream or ice cream.
