Ingredients (4)

500.00 ml cream
65.00 ml golden syrup
125.00 ml castor sugar
10.00 ml cornflour

Method:

Heat the cream, syrup and sugar over low heat, stirring until the castor sugar has dissolved. Simmer slowly for 15 minutes or until the sauce turns a caramel color. Stir occasionally as the sauce is inclined to boil over. Blend the cornflour with a little cold water to form a smooth paste and thicken the sauce with the mixture. Simmer until cooked and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Makes 500 ml (2 c) sauce.
