Ingredients (14)

Brownies
150.00 g butter
300.00 g dark chocolate — roughly chopped
375.00 ml brown sugar — soft, packed
10.00 ml vanilla — extract
0.00 0 eggs
180.00 ml dark chocolate — chips
200.00 ml flour — cake
125.00 ml sour cream
180.00 ml macadamia nuts — toasted, chopped
ICING
0.00 0 eggs — whites only
0.00 0 dark chocolate — melted
50.00 ml cocoa powder — sifted
200.00 ml icing sugar — sifted
0.00 0 edible gold dust

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Grease a 19cm x 29cm cake
tin and line the base and sides
with greased baking paper
so the paper sticks out 2 cm
above the rim of the cake tin.
Brownies Melt the butter in a
saucepan, add the chocolate
and heat slowly without bringing
the mixture to boil. Stir
continuously. Add the sugar
and remove from the heat. Pour
the mixture into a large mixing
bowl and leave to cool slightly.
Stir in the eggs one by one then
add the vanilla extract, flour,
chocolate chips, cream and
nuts. Spoon the mixture into
the prepared tin and bake for
40 minutes. Cover the tin with
aluminium foil and bake for
another 10-15 minutes. Leave
to cool completely in the tin
and cut into small squares.
Icing Whisk the egg white until
stiff peaks begin to form. Stir in
the chocolate and cocoa powder
and mix well. Add just enough
icing sugar to make a stiff icing
that will make peaks. Cover
the brownies with the icing
and make tiny peaks using a
teaspoon. Dust with gold dust.
