140.00 g flour — self-raising
120.00 g flour — cake
80.00 g oats
200.00 g sugar
80.00 g coconut
30.00 g rice — crispies
30.00 g cornflakes
100.00 g walnuts — finely chopped
150.00 g cherries — quartered
SYRUP
230.00 g margarine
1.00 eggs — extra-large, beaten

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC (350 ºF). Spray two large baking trays with non-stick spray.
Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Mix the syrup and butter in a microwave-proof dish and microwave for 1 minute on 100 per cent power. Stir till the margarine has melted and then add slowly to the dry ingredients while stirring continuously. Mix well. Roll into small balls and arrange on the baking tray. Flatten slightly with a fork and bake for 10-12 minutes or till the cookies are done and pale brown on top. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool. Store in airtight containers.
Makes about 70 cookies.
