Crunchy topped baked fish

  • 250
    fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 100
    cream cheese
  • 6
    spring onions, chopped
  • 1
    large egg, beaten
  • 3
    ground cumin
  • 25
    lemon juice
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4
    thick fish steaks
  • stir-;fried savoury rice, to serve
  • instant garden herb or garlic and parsley sauce


15‑20 minutes
Mix breadcrumbs with cream cheese, chopped spring onions, beaten egg, ground cumin, lemon juice and seasoning, to taste. Divide mixture between the fish steaks and press down to form a topping. Place on a greased baking tray and bake at 200 °C for 15-20 minutes until golden. Serve on a bed of stir-fried savoury rice and top with prepared instant sauce of your choice.
