Creamy noodles with chicken

    uncooked macaroni
  • 4
    rashers bacon
  • 400
    chicken breast fillets, diced
  • 1
    onion, sliced
  • 250
    button mushrooms, sliced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 100
    Cheddar cheese, grated


Turn on the oven grill. Cook the macaroni in rapidly boiling salted water until soft. Drain well. Fry the bacon until browned. Remove from the pan and cut into small pieces. Brown the diced chicken in the pan fat and remove from the pan. Sauté the onion in the pan fat until soft. Add the mushrooms and sauté until pale brown. Add the bacon pieces, diced chicken and macaroni. Mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper and add the cream. Simmer until the cream thickens slightly and the dish is heated through. Stir occasionally. Turn the mixture into an ovenproof dish. Combine the breadcrumbs and Cheddar cheese and sprinkle on top. Grill until the cheese has melted. Serve hot.
