Coffee granita

  • 250
    strong black Nescafé coffee
  • 1
    lemon, juice
  • 250
    sugar syrup
  • whipped cream, to serve


3 hrs (freezing time)
Mix together coffee, lemon juice and sugar syrup. Add 250 ml cold water and allow to cool.

Pour into a container, cover with a lid and freeze in the coldest part of the freezer.

After an hour, scrape edges and bottom with a fork and stir thoroughly. Cover and return to freezer.

Repeat this process every 30 minutes for about two and a half hours until mixture is smooth and full of crystals. It will be lighter at the edges and darker in the middle.

Serve in chilled glasses, topped with cream.
