Ingredients (11)

150.00 ml milk
150.00 ml evaporated milk
50.00 ml castor sugar
5.00 ml vanilla — essence
3.00 eggs — large, slighly beaten
200.00 g bread — crustless white, cubed
10.00 ml Baking powder
5.00 ml cinnamon — ground
cardamom — seeds crush
100.00 g dark chocolate — grated
60.00 ml butter — cut into small cubes

Method:

1. Mix together milk, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla essence and eggs. Pour into a bowl and add bread. Leave to soak for 20 minutes.
2. Stir baking powder, spices and chocolate into the bread mixture. Spoon into a greased 1,5 litre ovenproof dish. Dot with cubes of butter and bake in preheated 170 ºC oven for 60 minutes until firm. Serve warm with ice cream or fresh cream.
