Chilli con carne

  • 500
    lean beef mince
  • 1
    onion finely sliced
  • 1
    clove fresh garlic
  • 1
    red ginger garlic masala
  • 1
    dried red chilli
  • 1
    finely sliced green chilli
  • 1
    Italian tomatoes
  • 1
    red kidney beans
  • 1
    white cannellini beans
  • Fresh salt and pepper
  • Chilli flakes
  • Fresh coriander
  • Basmati rice or nachos to serve

Sauté the onion and garlic in some olive oil until the onions are translucent.
Add the masala and allow to cook slighty (add a bit of water if it catches) until the masala is fragrant.
Add the mince, and cook until all the water burns out. Break the lumps with a fork as you go along.
Now add the tomatoes, chillies, beans and seasonings.
Set the stove on medium heat and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes until the sauce is thickened and the flavours well incorporated.
Adjust the seasoning, scatter with fresh coriander leaves and serve.
Serve over basmati rice or with nacho chips scattered on top.
