Ingredients (16)

4.00 bacon — rashers, chopped
1.00 onion — large, sliced
1.00 green pepper — deseeded and diced
200.00 g button mushrooms — sliced
410.00 g tomato purée
250.00 ml wine — dry red
30.00 ml Worcestershire sauce
cloves — ground, pinch
5.00 ml allspice
nutmeg — ground, pinch
10.00 ml paprika
15.00 ml sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1.00 kg chicken — cooked, deboned
500.00 g pasta — spaghetti, cooked
cheddar cheese — for sprinkling

Method:

Fry the bacon until done, add the onion, green pepper and mushrooms and sauté until soft. Add the tomato purée, red wine and seasonings and simmer to form a flavoursome sauce. Add the chicken and simmer until heated through.
Serve the spaghetti, chicken and Cheddar cheese separately. Serves 6.
