Cheese and ham puffy

  • 400 g readymade puff pastry
  • 6 thick slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices good-quality ham
  • 1 egg, beaten


Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Place 1 x 200 g piece of pastry onto a greased baking sheet.
If you want to decorate the top, trim the edges.
Layer cheese and ham over and brush around the edges with egg.
Place the other piece of pastry on top and pinch together with your fingers.
Brush the top with egg and have fun decorating with off-cuts.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Eat straight away when still hot and the cheese is melting.

Cook's note:
Spread a can of Mexican or Italian tomatoes over as well, if desired.
