Ingredients (11)

PASTRY
200.00 g flour — cake
25.00 g cocoa powder
5.00 ml salt
30.00 ml sugar
150.00 g butter — chilled
1.00 eggs — yolk only
60.00 ml water — cold
FILLING
2.00 orange — peeled
380.00 g Nestlé Caramel Treat
45.00 ml sugar
eggs — for brushing

Method:

PASTRY: Sift the flour, cocoa, salt and sugar into a large bowl.
Cut in the butter, then rub in until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Mix the egg yolk and water and cut in to flour mixture to form a firm dough.
Cover with plastic wrap and chill.
FILLING: Remove the orange segments from the pith and set aside.
Roll out the pastry and using a scone cutter, cut out bases to fit patty pans.
Place bases in the greased patty pan tins.
Half fill each base with caramel condensed milk.
Bake in a preheated 160 ºC oven for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool. Arrange orange segments of top of caramel.
