Berry granita

  • 400
    strawberries in syrup
  • 100
  • 250
    red wine
  • 25
    lemon juice

Blend berries and syrup in a food processor until smooth. Heat the sugar with 125 ml water until the sugar has dissolved. Add wine and simmer for 10 minutes. Add berries and lemon juice and allow to cool. When cold, pour into a container and freeze until almost frozen. Break up crystals using a fork, then freeze until needed. Break up crystals with a fork again and dish up into glasses or dessert dishes.
