Beef stir-fry with peppers

  • 350
    beef strips
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • oil
  • 1
    red pepper, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1
    green pepper, seeded and cut into strips
  • 1
    onion, sliced into rings
  • 2
    cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1
    red chilli, seeded and finely chopped
  • 5
    Chinese five spice powder


Season the beef with salt and pepper. Heat a little oil in a wok or fairly large pan and stir-fry the meat until lightly browned and cooked. Remove to a side dish and set aside. Sauté the peppers, onion, garlic and chilli until soft. Add the Chinese five spice powder while stir-frying. Return the meat to the pan and mix well. Serve immediately. Serves 4.
