Ingredients (8)

45.00 ml butter
3.00 Granny Smith apples — or golden delicious apples, peeled, cored
30.00 ml brown sugar
2.00 ml cinnamon — ground
1.00 orange — zest and juice
1.00 lemon juice
3.00 bananas — sliced
250.00 ml muesli — sweetened or unsweetened

Method:

Heat butter in a large pan until frothy.
Cut apples into medium-sized wedges and sauté gently in butter for about 3 minutes.
Add sugar and cinnamon and sauté for a few minutes. Once sugar has dissolved, add juice and peel.
Cover and continue cooking until apples are tender (apples should remain quite firm or they will become mushy when baked).
Place apple mixture and bananas in a buttered oven-to-table dish. Top with muesli and dot with extra butter.
Bake in a preheated 200 ºC oven for about 15 minutes.
Serve with a mixture of thick cream and yoghurt.
