Baked bread rolls in a creamy sauce

1.00 kg prepared bread dough
Sauce
125.00 g bacon — shredded
400.00 g tomato and onion mix — tinned
250.00 ml cream — fresh
0.00 freshly ground black pepper
0.00 fresh parsley
250.00 ml cheddar cheese — grated

Method:

Preheat oven to 100 °C and grease a cast-iron pot or casserole dish with butter, oil or non-stick spray.
Pinch off pieces of dough and shape into balls.
Pack the balls fairly close together in the pot or dish and leave to rise in the oven.
Meanwhile prepare the sauce: saut&eacute the bacon until done, add the tomato and onion mix and bring to the boil.
Simmer until the sauce is slightly reduced.
Remove from the heat, stir in the cream and season to taste with salt, pepper and parsley.

Remove pot or dish from the oven and increase temperature to 180 &degC.
Pour the sauce over the dough and bake for 40 to 50 minutes.
Sprinkle with the cheese and bake until golden.
