Bacon rolls

Time 30 minutes, plus rising time


  • 500
    white bread flour
  • 2
  • 1
    x 10 g packet instant dried yeast
  • 50
  • 250
    rindless streaky bacon, chopped and fried until crisp
  • 1
    large egg, lightly beaten


15 to 20 minutes
Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Rub in the butter and then mix in the bacon.
Add enough warm water to make a firm dough.
Knead for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Shape the dough into small round balls and place them on a baking tray.
Leave them in a warm place to rise until they have doubled in size.
Brush with beaten egg and bake in a preheated 200 °C oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Serve with snacks for starters.
Fill your snack platter with cubes of cheese, salami, ham or other cold meats, and olives.
