American bagels

  • mixed lettuce leaves
  • cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • gherkins, halved
  • 6
    round bagels or bread rolls, halved
  • 200
    solid pack tuna, drained
  • fresh lemon juice
  • creamy mayonnaise
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper


Arrange the lettuce leaves, tomato slices and gherkins on the bottom half of each bagel. Flake the tuna into coarse chunks and spoon on top. Season with a little lemon juice, top with mayonnaise and season well with salt and pepper. Arrange extra lettuce leaves on top and cover with the remaining bagel halves.
