September Vinatics

21 Sep 2011

Hello Quaffers!

What a great way to end a month and a half of tapas lurve than with a Vinatics dinner? It seemed quite appropriate to us when we were wondering what wines to pair with KWV’s Classic Collection – they’re such good value, easy-drinking quaffers that they seemed made for this kind of relaxed, informal, friendly dining.

The Dinner – the civilised one

These blog reports are increasingly sounding like a series of ‘Friends’ but it’s true – after the outrageous antics of the previous Vinatics dinners, this one was refined, civilised, intellectual (well, a bit anyway) and to be honest, thoroughly enjoyable. And the food and wines were divine. If you want to see what we got up to, then click here.

Win a case of Wine!

And now we’ve got a case of wine to give away to you! Well, one lucky reader/blogger/foodie/wine person anyway. All you have to do is get hold of a bottle or two of KWV’s Classic Collection wines – most Ultra Liquors or Pick n Pay’s should be able to help – pick some of your favourite tapas dishes and have some friends round for a relaxed, convivial evening. Send us some pics and tell us what you did and the best one wins the wine.

Does anyone drink wine in Joburg?

We’ve had lots of entries from Capetonians, Western Cape-ers, Durbanites – but never any from Joburg. What’s up with you all up there? We know you cook and we’re fairly sure you drink as well – so give it a go this month and let us send you some wine for your efforts! And if you think that Gauteng-ers can’t cook – then put your money where your mouth is and have a go yourself. All the details about the wines and the food are here.

Happy cooking, eating and drinking!
