November Vinatics with KWV

16 Nov 2011

Hi Quaffers,

Are you ready for the Cultured Vinatics? Yes? Well, sadly (although probably not unsurprisingly) you’re going to be disappointed, as the only cultured thing about Vinatics comes from a pot of yoghurt.

One of our lovely guests – blogger Potjie – did try and interject an element of sophistication into the mix at our dinner last week and if you want to see how he got on, then click here to see all the goings-on of our Vinatics dinner party.

This month’s sponsor is again KWV with their Classic Collection – these have got to be the most versatile wines around! We’ve matched them with braais, winter food, spring food and now the most summery of summer dining options – a picnic. And they’ve gone down great guns every time. If you want to find out more about KWV and their wines, then click here.

So what food and wine did we match together? Chef Caro enjoyed herself thoroughly with this month’s choices but as she says herself, when it comes to a picnic, almost anything goes! If you want to see what she finally plumped for, then all the recipes and tasting notes are here. I can thoroughly recommend the Chocolate Brownies!!

And now we want to give you a case of wine!

Hopefully you will have better weather for your al fresco dining than we did, but even if you don’t – I promise you that the wines will cheer up any occasion! Get hold of a couple and enjoy them outdoors with some good food and friends. Take some pics and tell us how it went – the best one will win a case of wine!

Easy-peasy so let’s see your entries before the end of the month. Just email us at

And that’s it! Thanks to KWV for such fun, delicious wines, happy drinking and see you for the “Vinatics To End All Vinatics” in December!
