Revealed - all wild mussels tested from British waters contain man-made debris

Scientists warn that material including strands of underwear could be found in the seafood.

The issue of plastic pollution - especially in our oceans, has come under the microscope in the last few years with some staggering statistics.

- More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.

- We are now producing nearly 300 million tons of plastic every year, half of which is for single use.
