Seasonsational weekend menu
Head on down to the nearest veggie store and buy some fresh, seasonal products to brighten up your weekend.

Food24 has planned a weekend menu around the fruit and vegetables that are in season this August. This is a great way to minimise the impact of food on your wallet and a healthy alternative to all that greasy, cheap fast-food.
Friday:
Our lovely blogger My easy cooking makes her own, flavoured salt.
Rub this on a juicy steak and grill on the braai for an easy dinner tonight.
Serve with fluffy baked sweet potatoes dripping with sour cream and a tasty fresh
garden salad and why not save some money and make your own Asian-style salad dressing.
Saturday:
Start the day off with a rejuvenating pawpaw smoothie.

For lunch warm yourself up with a bowl of creamy
mushroom soup served with pumpernickel bread.
Dinner is a zesty
lime and ginger chicken paired with a vibrant avocado and grapefruit salad.
Sunday:
Munch on these deliciously sweet pumpkin fritters with your morning coffee.
For lunch make a crusty spinach and mushroom pie, oozing with ricotta and feta cheese.
Sole fillets
with a splash of garlic and lemon sauce and a glass of crisp white wine will be the perfect ending to a relaxed weekend.
And for dessert try a gooseberry and pineapple tart.
Enjoy!!!
