Cape Town eats 1 ton of Whoppers in a month!

Are you one of the many who queued up at Burger King?

The first Burger King store that opened its doors in May this year in the Cape Town city centre, seems to be bursting at the seams.

According to today’s Die Burger newspaper, Burger King had no need for introduction. It sold over 3 000 meals in the first 4 weeks of opening and have sold a whopping 1 ton of their specialty Whopper Burgers.

These numbers come as no surprise with the non-stop queues in the city centre and patrons often waiting up to an hour to be served.

The question is whether the queues will shorten with 12 more branches set to open throughout South Africa in the next year.

Is that Whopper really worth the wait?
