Method:

The story goes that an over-excited Labrador once sat on a basket en route to a picnic, crushing a carefully assembled dessert and that, supposedly, is how this delicious treat got its name. As this is your mess, we will not prescribe too exactly the quantities.

Tip:

Just be careful when adding the rose water as its flavour is not quite as subtle as the name would suggest.

In the bowl of an electric mixer and using the whisk attachment, whisk the cream and sugar until firm and the mixture can hold its shape. Gently fold in half of the strawberries, a little rosewater, half of the meringues, the Turkish delight sweets and the nuts.

Serve on a large dreamy platter and decorate by sprinkling the rest of the strawberries, Turkish delights and nuts over.
