Stir-fries are one of our favourite quick and easy dinner dishes – mostly because cooking them doesn’t require too much effort. And a great life hack for taking this notion one step further is by using frozen stir-fry vegetables like the ones from McCain. What’s great is that you cook the veggies directly from frozen. Simply ensure that the wok or pan is hot enough before you toss them in to cook.
A few top tips for stir-fry success:
- Have all of your ingredients prepped and ready before you begin. Cooking a stir-fry is a fast and snappy affair, so you’ll need to have everything close at hand.
- Always use a pan with sides and a bottom that are as round as possible. (A wok is recommended but is not essential.)
- It’s a good idea to stir-fry the vegetables and any meat in batches to ensure the veggies stay crunchy and the meat doesn’t stew or get tough. This can often happen if the pan is overcrowded and the surface area of the food doesn’t come into contact with the heat of the pan.
- Always serve a stir-fry as soon as it has been cooked.
