2011 foodie resolutions – good or bad.
Hello 2011! Two Thousand and Heaven, or whatever you want to call it, is here and we ALWAYS embrace a new year with healthy new habits? Don’t we?
Well if the latest celebrity diet The Sweetie Diet – which involves the likes of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Cheryl Cole shovelling Percy Pigs and Jelly Babies down their gobs every half hour – is anything to go on, then we’re in for a world of hurt. Seriously though – I don’t think we need to tell you that it is not going to work out long-term – did you see who’s following this diet?
Thankfully, on a more earthly note we’ve become a bit fascinated with our very own blogger, Doughboy. He is aiming to lose 20 kgs before his wedding in July, in order to not resemble “the love child of Nelly-the-Elephant and the Michelin Man” at the groom end of the aisle.
Problem is he likes eating too much and has no willpower. Something most of us can relate to – so we’ve decided to throw our weight behind Doughboy and give him a healthy shunt into 2011 with some cracking healthy and delicious recipes.
So Doughboy – here’s to losing at least half of that 20kg by July…
Vegan ginger sesame noodles with broccoli
Superfood smoothie
Apricot and bulgar wheat salad
Black beans with basil and cherry tomatoes
Shrimp on a bed of quinoa and peas
And we need your input too readers. How can we make Food24 healthier in 2011?
