Hot fruit salad

A healthy and delicious dessert or tea time snack.
 


 
 

Ingredients

 
  • 2 apples, corred and cubed
  • 1/2
    c
    freshly cubed pineapple
  • 15 to 20 dried prunes
  • 1/4
    tsp
    cinnamon
  • Juice of 1 orJuice of 1 orangeange
  • 350
    ml
    sweet red wine
  • 1 Rooibos tea bag
  • 1
    tbsp
    lemon juice
  • Enough water to cover the fruit in the pot
  • 1/4
    c
    sugar
  • 2 pears, correda and cubed
  • 2 naartjies broken into segments and halved
 
 

Method

 
Add all the ingredients to a pot and bring to the boil for about 5 minutes.
Remove the tea bag and taste if it is sweet enough. If necessary, add a teaspoon or so sugar and return the lid.
Reduce the heat and then cook for a further 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand until cool.
Once cool, it can be warmed up slightly and served with ice cream or custard.
The fruit should still be slightly crispy.
