Ingredients (12)

apples — cored, cubed
pears — cored, cubed
1/4 c sugar
water
1 tbsp lemon juice
rooibos — tea bag
350 ml red wine — (sweet)
orange — juice only
1/4 tsp cinnamon — ground
prunes — dried
1/2 c pineapple — cubed
naartjies — segmented

Method:

Add all the ingredients to a pot and bring to the boil for about 5 minutes.
Remove the tea bag and taste if it is sweet enough. If necessary, add a teaspoon or so sugar and return the lid.
Reduce the heat and then cook for a further 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand until cool.
Once cool, it can be warmed up slightly and served with ice cream or custard.
The fruit should still be slightly crispy.
