Brownies & Downies Cape Town is a coffee shop and lunchroom that is opened under Our Second Home as a Non-Profit Organisation to the public, tourists and businesses. First and foremost, however, it is a training centre for people with intellectual disabilities, and a vessel to create change and acceptance in the South African culture (website description).

After starting a similar coffee shop in The Netherlands, Wendy Vermeulen finished her social work internship in Cape Town, where she decided to stay. She then opened Brownies & Downies, bringing her idea to Cape Town. They serve quality food while providing training, employment and awareness for those with disabilities.

Monday to Friday 06:30 - 17:00
Closed on weekends and public holidays.
