I have always gone to yo eastern fusion in the week and have been served but a friendly young guy named sharnoldt who always helps me.but what happened on sat when I was there was outragous.the food as usual was very good and authentic.my taste buds blew up with joy.but the problem came from service.when we walked in the asian gorl with glasses pointed with her hand to us to where we should sit.then, the worst service I have ever had in my life came from a waitress named unice.she sat us down with attitiude and told us to order now cause the kitchen was closing.I found it surprising as it was only 9pm.we had to call her all the time and she seemed more interested in her food she was eating, her conversation with the asian girl and her blackberry.then,to top it all off.at exactly 9:30,she told us we must pay our bill cause she had to go home.we still left a tip,but she never even bothered to come back to our Table and just went home.everything was so good there it was hard to imagine someone like that works there.I would still reccomend people to go eat there though as the food is beyond all other good food.

Jessica, I have been going to Yo Eastern Fusion for nearly 8 years...and I have never had a bad meal there. I lived in Bangkok for 8 months, and the food is authentic, tasty and very well priced. My only bone of contention is the slow service, however if Scharnodlt is on duty, this problem is very quickly alleviated. I now live in Johannesburg, and travel to Cape Town regularly, and every single trip includes at least 1 meal at Yo Eastern Fusion. Charlie and his team are amazing, and having been into their kitchens, I know it is clean and everything is freshly prepared.

The absolute WORST "Thai" food I have ever had the misfortune of tasting. I say tasting, because I couldn't finish the meal, it was so bad. I love Thai food. I used to work at a Thai restaurant. I frequent various Thai restaurants. This is not Thai food. This is a Chinese brand pre-made sachets, found at China Town, used to insult my taste buds. No fresh flavours, no fresh spices. We had the Tom yum soup and the Tom Kha soup both with prawn. My Tom Kha soup was a water sour broth with 2 mushrooms, 3 revolting prawns, a small section of julienned bamboo shoot and what seemed to be a never ending supply of onion. That was IT! My boyfriend had the Tom Yum, which tasted more like a indian curry broth with a squirt of lemon. Then we had the veg green curry with coconut rice. It looked and tasted like a cup-a-soup with some chunky veg. It was also as thick as custard. The flavours were completely artificial. I was surprised the restaurant was as full as it was, considering the vomit we were served. Unfortunately for me (as though this wasn't unfortunate enough), we had it take away, so couldn't even throw it back at them. The only time I will be back to this puke hole, is when I drive past slowly and tell who ever is with me to NEVER go there, and take them to Simply Asia instead.

I must admit I have never been to other branches but the Sunset Beach branch. The sushi there are GREAT, best that most places in Cape Town and I have been a client of theirs for many years. Waitron service can be slow, so make sure Sharnold is on duty !

This is a comment I forwarded to the Restaurant: I have just had one of the worst meals and dinning experiences of my life at your Big bay branch(Yo eastern fusion) After seeing the restaurant a few weeks ago my girlfriend and I, who thoroughly enjoy eastern foods and flavours, decided to spend our Saturday night at your restaurant. Upon arrival we were seated at a comfortable outdoor table and left to peruse the menu. By time the waiting staff returned to the table, when we had to call them over, we had decided upon our drinks and starters and placed the order. My girlfriend at this stage could feel things crawling on her legs, almost as if there were fleas or even bedbugs on the dirty outside cushions, we exchanged cushions with the adjacent chair which although just as dirty seems to solve the problem. The starter we ordered was the "assorted appetizers". The drinks and starters arrived promptly, aside from the satay chicken being as dry as the wooden kebab stick it was on the starters were okay... but deep fried mushrooms and calamari is somewhat difficult to mess up. Prior to the arrival of the starters we placed our mains order. My girlfriend ordered the Crispy duck with pan cake and I ordered the Red Beef Curry. When placing the order we clearly said "please make sure our mains come after our starters". This seems like a stupid request as surely it is what happens in every restaurant worldwide without such a request. Needless to say halfway through our starters our mains arrived at the table... We politely asked why the mains were already at our table and the waitron said the food was "fast"! We were taken aback by this lack of explanation and before we could suggested anything the waitron had wondered off. We pushed the starters aside and prepared to eat our mains. Mine was cold, perhaps if the chef had taken the time to warm up my meal it would have arrived after i had finished my starters? I sent it back in a vein attempt to have it warmed up... by this time i certainly did not have delusions of the chef throwing my curry into a hot wok for a few seconds but had resigned myself to a short blast in the microwave! I received neither it would seem as the curry returned just as cold as it was when i sent it back, with a firm skin like layer on the surface. fortunately the rice was very hot and once mixed with the curry the temperature was fine. The curry was all but tasteless and hardly worth commenting on... no complexity of flavours as one would expect from a Thai curry. The duck and pan cakes... firstly the pancakes arrived on the plate in a deep freezer plastic bag on top of the duck! Zero for presentation,Zero for fresh preparation, and zero effort! Once removed from the bag the pan cakes were dry and hard from its time in the freezer and stint in the microwave. When the waitron was called over and shown the pan cakes she did not seem to see anything wrong and begrudgingly returned same to the kitchen, She returned with another plate a few moments later with yet another steaming plastic bag with stale pan cakes. We asked politely about the bags and why the food comes in it to which we received the reply "that's how its kept". We did not even venture to continue with this discussion. The new pan cakes were just as dry and stale as the first batch but we did not bother to say anything as we had realized that no one at the restaurant cared. Pan cakes pushed to the side my girlfriend started to eat the duck with the fresh greens served with the meal. After a few bites a charming little insect came walking from under the cucumber on my girlfriends plate. We had had enough of this shocking experience and asked for the bill and left. I write this comment merely for the purposes of allowing the owners of the establishment to take action before their investment is run into the ground by useless staff who do not care about the quality of service or food provided at the restaurant. Shocking.

Went to Eden on the Bay branch today for lunch What a disaster. No wonder we were the only customers Even a tip of R1 failed to attract any comment The service from the kitchen was so slow and the food when it arrived was not edible.
