The first Turn n Tender shop was situated in Greenside. From there the four Aaron brothers, Mervyn, Steven, Howard and Brianthen opened another restaurant in Balfour Park.
In November 1982, Turn n Tender Braamfontein was opened and soon became the flagship of the Turn n Tender group. For many people the Braamfontein store was considered to be an institution and you will always get people telling you about their experiences there.
After selling the property in Braamfontein in 2003, The Mini Tender Steak Boutique was launched in Emmarentia. Even with the name change, this particular store soon became famous in its own right.
Shortly after in June 2007, Turn 'n Tender opened a store in Parktown North, and returned back to the original name, which put Turn n Tender back on the map.
