I live in Hout Bay and have from time to time visited this dreadful place. The owner is exceptionally rude and arrogant. Once we asked him if they could add avo to the salad to which he told us NO WAYS - he doesnt have avo. There is a 7/11 a few metres away. They have a sign saying all meals are prepared when ordered. I asked for a bigger portion of a starter to be told everything is already made. I will not go back to this restaurant even if someone else is paying. Casereccio is close by with excellent food and service and a warm welcome from the owner when you arrive

Sorry excuse for a trattoria. I do not compose negative write ups without giving the owner a chance to make up for mistakes. In this scenario we phoned to make it right, although we were confronted with a very aggressive and defensive tone. The sauce our veal was clearly rancid,there were no anchovies, the veggies never arrived, the kid's pizza took 40 minutes and the overall atmosphere was scared. It has been 3 years to return to this establishment and it will more than 3 before we return.

Just so everyone knows, Luigi's has a great courtyard out in the back now and better for parking and very relaxed and good for kids. My only request, any chance of opening at 5pm for those of us who want an early supper?
