Great service, amazing food and the most breath taking views. You almost feel that you are in the county side and not in a city. I was invited for lunch on Sunday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were warm and welcoming and the food was great! The menu is well priced and paired with some fantastic wines. I will be back soon even if I have to borrow money to do so!

This is the 3rd time I have been to The Roundhouse....the first was just after it opened and we had a memorable lunch. The second was a non event, so today we went back to find out whats changed as it is the 5th best in the country. I just dont get it. This resuarant has a great view but thats where it ends. Food was average Wine prices are way over the top Its cold and has not atmosphere They try hard with service but it just does not work - our waiter asked us if we wanted out starters and main course at the same time. There are so many better restuarants in Cape Town that are worthy of the 5th spot. I definately will not be going back

Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out.Simple as that. Our third vist and it was marvellous. A big fat tray of amazing canapes, all included in the price(oysters anyone?) was followed by four astonishingly courses. Favourites were crayfish tails and scallops - perfectly cooked, creamy, moist and hot from the pan - no sitting around under heat lamps for these little babies, and puddings to make you weep - coconut and chocolate mousse so rich you can feel it all the way to your toes, perfectly balanced with a teaspoon of zinging, vibrant passion fruit sorbet.Just when you think its all over, another tray of complimentary goodies slides in front of you - homemade nougat, truffles and caramel popcorn and you just can't help yourself, Phenomenal. Chuck in the most incredible Camps Bay sunset, and attentive, efficient and gentle service and The Roundhouse is perfect - go for birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions - its not cheap but its oh so, so special.

An evening that celebrates the Golden age of luxurious and intimate fine dining. Charming and wonderful. The finest hospitality, coupled with terrific fine fare. Our 30th anniversary was celebrated in royal style. Our Roundhouse experience is to be treasured for all of time.

Interesting reading Roy's comments. Perhaps we ordered according to our exact tastes, but our table had the best food and wine experience in a long time. Not one complaint. Granted, parking is a problem, but I suppose when dining elsewhere, we often have to walk. The setting is remarkable, the service was incredible (Clifferd??) and a night to cherish and remember.

To pay London prices for this fare is very pretentious. Some dishes outstanding by any measure. Some mediocre in the extreme. To receive tasting menu portion sizes on the 4-course menu is a disgrace. To require guests paying >R600/head to park 5oom at the bottom of a dark hill is hardly service.

Expensive, pretentious, rather pleased with themselves. Courses imaginative, well cooked, if bland. Servings were minute. Bizarre ritual with cheese platter : one selects four cheeses, platter whisked away, four tiny slivers of the cheeses selected appear. Main restaurant v. noisy. No own wine. Had to park 500m away on unlit road - complete shambles.

Karibu "Karibu is one of my favourite restaurants to pop in for a dinner that never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with a distinct South African feel that's both elegant and upmarket. The service is friendly and efficient - I always rely on the manager (Bruce) for meal recommendations which thus far has been spot-on, yet I'm sure the menu as a whole is good......"
