Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. He’s a geologist, she’s an economist – together this husband and wife team is a phenomenon. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 146 hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.
From the Jordan hillside vineyards one has spectacular panoramic views of Table Mountain, False Bay and Stellenbosch. Gary and Kathy worked internationally for two years, refining their high-energy instincts with practical experience. They returned home to build a cellar in 1992.
The award winning Jordan Restaurant, is the perfect way to enjoy the vineyards: open for a la carte lunch, and a six course set menu for dinner. Menus at Jordan Restaurant change daily, but the format for lunch and dinner remain the same throughout the year.
The Cheese Room features South African cheeses including blues such as Brevis Blue and Cremolat Gorgonzola, hard cheeses like Kimilili Witzenberger and Healy’s Mature Cheddar and a selection of goat’s cheese. Most of Jordan's cheeses are made by small producers from all over South Africa and are not available in retail outlets. Guests are invited to make their own selection to enjoy with wine or as a dessert.
Open:
Lunch (a la carte): Monday- Sunday: 12:00 - 15:00
