The Patio Café was started by Carrie Schonborn and Bianca Westhorpe-Pottow who had noticed a lack and need for an actual Café experience in Pietermaritzburg. Situated in a popular residential and business area, The Patio has a remarkable view over the CBD.  The team at The Patio believe in simplicity, honestly and positivity, offering a simple menu where portions are light and just hit the spot.

Their muffin concept is a hit. It's where magic meet muffins; mixing up different outrageous ingredients every week, like apple and gammon muffins - served with mozzarella and homemade red onion marmalade.

Another delight is the onion omelette filled with Parma ham, camembert and homemade berry jam. Their pasta dish is unique by its' fresh yoghurt salsa dressing. Bianca, Head Chef, heads up the kitchen full of fresh ingredients, imagination and great coffees – a café sprinkled with magic.

The Patio is definitely worth a try and offers guests something of a Midlands Meander experience in the City.

Open:
