Last Saturday morning my husband and I decided to walk to Camps Bay for breakfast and make the most of the lovely weather. Upon arrival at 'the strip' we decided to try out Sunbird Bistro as we used to pop into Sandbar from time to time over the years. The inside of the restaurant was empty because the speakers inside were blaring house/dance music. Bare in mind it was about 10 am. We settled at a table outside and tried to ignore the music and get on with our order. I asked if they had fresh juice and the waiter said no just the bottled kind. I asked what was in their fruit smoothies and they said some fruit and 'smoothie powder' whatever that is. We decided to keep it simple and ordered and eggs and a fruit salad. Byt this stage we couldn't even really chat to one another so we asked one of the waiters it is would be possible to turn the music down. Nothing happened. We asked him again and he looked uncomfortable and gestured to the manager saying he had asked but maybe the manager didn't want to turn it down. At this point we called the manager over and said that we'd prefer to leave and could we pay for our water. All of a sudden according to him our food was on the pass and he aggressively planted his hands down on the table. We said we were sorry but didn't want to stay as the vibe was now totally spoilt. His response - fine just don't come back! No problem there.

Hi Pamela, David and Team Just wanted to thank you for the lovely evening you extended to us last Monday. We were very impressed with your kind gesture in inviting us to dinner even though we were a week early. I know that its not a fast food restuarant, but waited over a hour for our food, it was good, but you should not have to wait that long at any restuarant for a simple meal like a burger.

I waited long for food too, but when it arrived it was incredible! Then again, the waitron did say they are not a fast food restaurant but a dining experience
