The SeaFood at The Marine has been given a new look for spring! This long-time favourite restaurant at The Marine Hermanus was ready for décor update and as a result Liz McGrath called in Hotcocoa Interiors & Design, who originally transformed the restaurant 9 years ago, to create some new magic.

A new colour palette redolent of sea breezes and rolling blue waves has washed through the restaurant: a bold deep navy blue back wall anchors the space and transforms the restaurant in the most surprising way.   It makes one sit up and take notice.

Gone are the blue underlays and white table cloth and in their place are glistening new hi-gloss tables in the most beautiful of subtle colours.  Sea foam grey, gentle hint of sea blue & sea shell lilac play with the senses and lift the stone grey colours.  To tone down the glossy tables, an organic silvery metal edge to the tables and table legs creates a relaxed new look.

The new look is crisp, clean, simple, sophisticated – yet relaxed, laid-back and inviting and a perfect fit with the SeaFood menu which includes some exciting new dishes such as white fish carpaccio with sustainable kabeljou, fennel and Elgin apples; a shellfish linguine with a chowder-style sauce and a classic style prawn Caesar salad.

Some of the must-try old favourites include seafood bunny chow; rich man’s fish and chips; stir fried calamari; prawn and leek ravioli.  Expect the freshest of fish and seafood accompanied by the best locally sourced ingredients and flavours all perfectly paired with wine from the Walker Bay region.

The Marine Hermanus is also delighted to welcome Chad Blows as Executive Chef at The Marine.  Chad will oversee his team at both the SeaFood at The Marine and The Pavilion.
