Went to the restaurant at Hout Bay Manor for Christmas lunch 6 years and for want of a better word it was very disappointing. Although we knew it had been taken over by new management and totally refurbished, we have been very slow to go back - what a waste of time! We visited the restaurant for Christmas Day Dinner and from getting out of the car and being escorted to the pool side for pre-dinner drinks everything was first class without being too pretentious. The food, service, ambience and just about everything was fabulous. We won't wait as long for our next visit and are already looking forward to it.

I just wanted to say what a lovely experience we had last night, the food was exquisite, the wine delightful and the service was second to none. We have visited you 4 or 5 times since you re opened and each time has been a wonderful experience

My mother always told me never to believe rumours - as I had heard rumour that Pure only served for the in-house guests at the Hout Bay Manor; so I thought would take a chance, and boy was it a surprise! Pure has been open for almost 2 years and has always served dinners from a Tuesday to a Saturday and lunch on Sundays! SO i would like to share this with my fellow foodies out there - GET TO PURE - you have missed out if you have not been! The service is fantastic, the food even more so and the venue speaks for itself! WOW WOW WOW We had a stunning meal at Pure last night. Thank you to the team for serving us an amazingly special meal!

I recently had Sunday lunch at the Hout Bay Manor and I was very impressed. The restaurant" Pure" is exquisite! My partner and I received exceptional service to that of their 5 star grading and to sum up the restaurant's decor, it i really out of this world! My partner and I had the Sepia Langoustine for starters ,and the saffron and beetroot combination was really amazing! I had the Veal Cheeks for the main course and my partner had the Crispy Spiced Lamb. Prior to this we each received 2 Amuse, complimentary from their head chef. I must say that their food is exceptionally good, real value for money and that their portion sizes were very reasonable. We were completely stuffed and unfortunately had no space left to taste from their equally impressive array of desserts. Fantastic!

On my first visit to Cape Town I really wanted to see and try everything I've heard is the best that the City has to offer. Naturally I was amazed at the actual setting of Cape Town and how incredibly nice the people were, especially when I needed directions. I have to say that the most impressive dining experience I had whilst there was at Pure restaurant at Hout Bay Manor. The 7 courses with 7 wines were truly phenomenal. Undoubtedly it was one of the most incredible culinary experiences I've had anywhere in the world, and believe me I've travelled and dined at many of the worlds leading restaurants. Everything about the Pure experience was unbelievable, from the gentleman opening my car door on arrival and escorting me to the restaurant, to the caring waitress - it was a 1st class meal but more than that it was a 1st class experience of the senses. If you haven't dined at Pure, you simply haven't dined! Kate Fouracre (England)

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Just a pity it is not well frequented, we have been three times and were almost the only guests.

A pure palatable pleasure. Friends and I decided to get out of the Cape Town City and search for a new dining experience. We chose Pure at Hout Bay Manor. A host met us at the entrance and on request gave us a tour. The decor was wow. We had drinks and complimentary bruschetta with salsa. Being a warm evening, we had drinks on the pool patio. The experience so far outshone anything in a local Cape Town restaurant. On entering Pure restaurant which is totally serene we were presented with a taster (courtesy of the Chef) of a turkey truffle, again a nice gesture. We all chose different dishes. From the Cappuccino Lobster Soup to the Rack of Lamb and the Springbok finishing with the Medley of Lemon Dessert whilst the chocoholics devoured their Chocolate Fondant and Chilli ice-cream. Mine was still tops. Thanking you for a great evening, but as you can see I have indulged yet again on the obvious memory of an evening well spent with friends. Thanks for the exquisite dinner!

Karibu "Karibu is one of my favourite restaurants to pop in for a dinner that never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with a distinct South African feel that's both elegant and upmarket. The service is friendly and efficient - I always rely on the manager (Bruce) for meal recommendations which thus far has been spot-on, yet I'm sure the menu as a whole is good......"
