We spent a weekend in PE visting family and decided to go to Nosh for dinner. When I booked, I was told I would not forget the experience. Well I can assure you it was a very forgettable experience. Chef not in the least interested in his restuarant. Sat in the bar all night and did not even oversee our food leaving the kitchen. The waitress did not know the menu. The slow roast lamb neck looked as if it had been refrigerated for days, the soles were so smaller than small and the steak was below mediocre. Whats happened to PE restaurants. I remember the good old days of La Fonaine, The Bell, Sir Rufane Donkin Room - we could not even find a place to have lunch on the day of our departure. Alan, I suggest you go fishing or open a pub and give up being a chef.

From Cape Town so maybe our standards are high. the chef spent the night in the bar and the waitress did not know the menu. Soles that were supposed to be large wre so tiny it was embarrassing. I am afraid if this is the standard then the restaurant won't be arounfd for much longer. Rather stick to Ginjer or Coachman for professionalism and decent food. Caochman for the best sole in town.

Karibu "Karibu is one of my favourite restaurants to pop in for a dinner that never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed with a distinct South African feel that's both elegant and upmarket. The service is friendly and efficient - I always rely on the manager (Bruce) for meal recommendations which thus far has been spot-on, yet I'm sure the menu as a whole is good......"
