This family run restaurant with spectacular views is well
worth a visit if you're heading out to Hermanus. Set in an old farm labourer's cottage, there is
a pure country feeling here, where guests are made to feel instantly welcome
and relaxed. The old stone
fireplace and beautiful pine ceiling makes for a cosy space in the colder
winter months, where you can sit back and enjoy good food and local
wines. Set out on the verandah are beautiful wooden tables and
log-style chairs, with trinkets and "all-sorts" hanging from every
wall in the restaurant.
What can be expected from the frequently changing menu is only the best of
country cooking with a Mediterranean influence. Fresh produce straight from the
back garden is used to prepare each dish, and everything else from the bread to
the ice cream is home-made. Order the pan fried halloumi salad with
grilled peppers if you're feeling for something light, and for those who are a
tad ravenous, try the lamb shank in puff pastry - it won't disappoint!
Wednesday - Sunday, 12:30 - 14:00
Dinner only on special occasions for a group of 20 or more.
