Had lunch there on Friday afternoon at teh Melissa's in Parkhurs and it was really a dissapointment.. I cannot beleive the rediculous small amount of smoked snoek pate that came with a mountain of melba toast; Other person at the table ordered a Ceasar Salad with the egg hard, when the rest of us had all finished eating he once again asked where his salad was only to be informed it was the egg taking that long.. Never in my life had I heard of a egg poaching for 40 minutes! Sorry to say but this restaurant is trading on its great products and not really paying attention to the customers who actually come to sit and eat.

Something better be done fast otherwise I don't give Melissa's much time in Parkhurst. I went last night, the service is shocking. All the food is left open and under a fan so it is so dry, looks dull and uninteresting. There were flattened card board boxes and rubbish lying near one of the shelves. I think if we had got up and walked out without paying no one would even realise. The concept and the coffee is good so hope they do something quick!

I know this place is new (Melissa’s in Parkhurst), but the owner has an emergency on their hands. First time we went they were unable to serve food as no kitchen staff had arrived (we were only informed 10 minutes after being seated). Second try the following weekend and we waited 20 minutes for a table, waited a further 20 minutes for a waiter (after complaining) and where then told breakfast would take an hour. Needless to say we left without eating. All the tables around us were sniggering at the absolutely shocking lack of service. Best something gets done soon before it’s too late!
