Best escargot ever. Will never eat snails anywhere else. LOVE IT!!

Food - Fillet pasta and seafood pasta was absolutely otrosious. Not to mention the service.

Hi Dale I am sorry that you feel our standard deteriorated a year ago. Both Mantovanis and the landlord conduct regular audits on our food and service. With regards the contentious issue of public smoking, the law states that "no smoking will be permitted within 5 meters of any entrance" We have several tables that fall outside of the 5 meter requirement. All of the restaurants on the Piazza follow this ruling.

Dear Mr Turner, I am sorry that you had a bad experience at our restaurant. As you know we have been operating in Eastgate for the past 33 years and serve about 12 500 customers per month. We use a 150g portioned piece of fillet steak and serve fresh cut chips. I apologise that the roll was not buttered and the fillet was not cooked to your liking. This should have been done. We would have gladly given you extra prego sauce. As you can imagine in our line of work there is an ocasional "slip up". Please accept this reply as our apology.

We also used to enjoy Montovani's but found the standard deteriorating about a year ago. To add insult to injury, on our last visit in February, we complained to the owner about a smoker smoking in the non smoking outside area - the manager decided to take offence at OUR complaint. We've voted with our feet and ignore the place completely. Apart from Harpers, Eastgate has no decent restaurants.

We have been visiting this restaurant ever since it opened and regrettably Saturday afternoon was our worst experience there ever. My wife’s Prego was an absolute disaster. Dry bread, no butter and a small dried out piece of meat with some stringy sauce. (For R71!!)The chips were fresh. On my plate the vegetables seemed a few days old. When complaining to a young female manager, we were told that that is the way it is and no complaints have ever been received on this dish. No apology, compensation or anything. Nothing. Just argumentation. How sad. How disappointing. How apathetic.
