La Storia is an Italian restaurant which celebrates food, wine and tradition.

Food brings families and friends together; it marries cultures and not only feeds the body but also the soul.  Senses are awakened by food, the smell, touch, taste and sight of it. Food memories transport us to times and places in our history. Food plays a role in our everyday existence and La Storia celebrates it.

The menu Chef Marco Nico has created focuses on his Italian roots but also tells the story of the influence of the diverse South African cultures on his cooking. His approach to food is very traditional and there are no short cuts, he buys the very best produce he can get and he makes everything from scratch, just the way his Nonna taught him to.

But, what is a meal without wine? The two go hand in hand, so we have chosen some beautiful local South African wines for the La Storia wine list, including some very special Italian styled wines which are produced in South Africa. Celebrate local winemakers and their efforts to produce wonderful wines South Africans can be proud of.

And finally tradition, in Italian families meal times are sacred. Meals usually stretch over hours and homes are filled with laughter (and often heated debate) but they are never rushed. At La Storia guests are invited to become family. They are encouraged to slow down, relax and enjoy. Take time to savour every moment of your meal, each sip of your wine and revel in the company of your friends and family.
