Ginkgo believes that food presents the opportunity to discover the world, bringing a passion for travel to the table so to speak! They draw from a wealth of culinary traditions, and the menu thus presents a healthy bit of Asia, a taste of the Levant, a soupcon of la belle France and a healthy dollop of contemporary café style!
The owners get a thrill out of offering patrons taste sensations not readily available in other restaurants. Unusual ingredients such as quinoa, buckwheat, macadamia oil, za’atar & sumac for example are used throughout the menu, which also offers a variety of raw dishes including some fabulous raw chocolate treats.
Organic, free range and locally grown produce is used as much as possible, as are goods produced by small independent farmers/manufacturers. Their dairy products and salad greens are mostly organic, the salmon is RSPCA certified wild, the red meat, chicken and eggs are all free range, hormone and anti biotic free and very, very little comes out of cans!
